Kelly Willis

Kelly Willis, inspired by her mother's musical influence, discovered her passion for music during high school. A serendipitous recording booth session led to joining a rockabilly band at 16. Relocating to Austin, her band faced dissolution post-graduation, leading to her collaboration with drummer Mas Palermo and the formation of Radio Ranch. Notable encounters with renowned artists catapulted her to MCA, where her debut album, "Well Travelled Love," received extensive promotion. Despite moderate sales, discomfort with her marketing approach led to her release from MCA in '94. Willis persisted, recording with A&M before self-producing her acclaimed album "What I Deserve," symbolizing her independent stance. Over the years, she collaborated with fellow musicians, recorded a Christmas album, and released subsequent successful albums, notably "Translated From Love" and "Back Being Blue."
